DeWeese Photographic Arts                       Hand-painted

Before color photography, hand-painting of black and white photographs with oil paints was performed to render them more realistic.  Today, it's done to render them more magical.

Deb does all of the hand-painting.  She is largely self taught, but also attended the Veronica Cass School  in Hudson, Florida.  While most of her work is done on personal art, she occasionally does work for other photographers and private individuals.  If you have a photograph that you would like hand-painted; contact Deb.

The photographs with titles on this page are for sale as original hand-painted prints or as archival inkjet prints printed on the Epson 7500.

The 4th picture in the second page is a hand-painted photograph of the home where Deb's father was born in the mountains of Virginia and which still remains in the family.  It was  published in the Sep/Oct 2000 issue of Photo Techniques Magazine.  The final photograph is of a 58 year old mother that participated in the "Feminine Strength" project.
